After being told I needed a new $3000 transmission in Grants Pass, I decided to risk it and drive the rest of the way home to get second opinion. I took my truck to Aamco and after the mechanic ran a diagnostic AND test drove it, he told me that the Transmission was fine and he suspected that the vibration was in the suspension. Then he didn't even charge me for the diagnostic! I got some new shocks and tires and the vibration is gone. Its now been 3 months and the transmission that was deemed broken by the first mechanic is still shifting great! Thanks for being honest Aamco! It a rare thing these days.
Aamco Salem had great customer service and were extremely helpful throughout this whole process. I was on a 3 hour drive to visit my brother in Corvallis, and my check engine light came on. I was worried that my engine or transmission was bad because my vehicle was jerking a little. The process of getting my vehicle looked at was pleasant as they constantly communicated with me and gave me updates on how my vehicle was doing. At the end of the day, what I thought was going to be a multi thousand dollar repair was actually fixed for under $200. Great people, great mechanics, and great service! THANKS AAMCO!!
